A Few of My Favorite Political Quotes
Here are a just few of my favorites: "A rising tide lifts all boats."- John F. Kennedy "The Rising tide will lift some boats, but others will run aground."-Gene Sperling, former Bill Clinton economic advisor "A rising tide lifts all boats? False. Sunken boats are unaffected by tides."-popular...
Bernie Sanders and Middle-East Policy
THIS is what it's all about, folks. The differences between speeches made today by Bernie Sanders and warmongering neoconservative Clinton could not be wider. Read Bernie's words and you will see a path to eliminating ISIS and towards relative peace, whereas Maggie Thatcher 2.0 guarantees, in...
Rolling Over & Playing Dead are Two Tricks This Dog Will Never Learn
I refuse to be an enabler of elitist politicians with raging senses of entitlement who make a mockery of our principles. For once, think of the millions of Americans irreparably harmed by "the lesser of two evils" and consider how much they have needlessly suffered at the hands of a broken system...
#StillSanders is Still Trending, Let's Keep It Going
As reported from U.S. Uncut- Despite the corporate media repeating the “Hillary is inevitable” narrative ad nauseum after the March 15 primary contests, Bernie Sanders’ base is taking Twitter to tell everyone why they’re refusing to give up. As of 9:30 Eastern time on Wednesday night,...
Thank You, National Nurses United
National Nurses United has been a wonderful supporter of the political revolution and our efforts to bring America into the 21st century with healthcare for all. Let's thank them for all of their dedication and hard work across the country and especially here in Florida. The famous Bernie Bus...
Democracy requires that citizens care about each other and take both personal and social responsibility to act on that care. The moral mission of government is to protect and empower all citizens equally. We do that by strengthening the Public.
The Public is the system of resources necessary for a decent private life and thriving private enterprise. Public resources include education, health care, roads and bridges, police, fire departments, the military, communication systems, fair justice, clean air, parks, safe food, and much more.
Corporate government breaks down the nation as we know it, love it, and need it to be. Dismantling the Public destroys the sanctity and safety of American private life and the basis of most businesses.
We need liberty from corporate government.
Economics, Finance, Banking, and Money
We must actively address the gross level of economic inequality and the balance between the corporate Private and the Public. Wealth in and of itself is not a bad thing at all, however, we should strive to have wealth without greed.
The major problems compound when there is an enormously disproportional concentration of money being hoarded and not reinvested, especially back into America. Catastrophic threats to liberty exist when that wealth is not only able to buy political power, but that ability is brazenly acted upon so often.
I support a Constitutional Amendment taking private money out of elections and champion the eventual nomination of Supreme Court Justices who would overturn the Citizens United ruling.
We can and must return to fair capitalism. Our current system has surpassed the disaster capitalism stage and has gone directly to extortion. Middle-class taxpayers are forced to subsidize Wall Street’s risky bets and then forced to pay to bail them out. Reinstating the provisions inherent in Glass-Steagall will help limit the severity of further losses.
Big banks and monopolies need to be busted. If you truly want to let laissez-faire economics play out then you have to live by the free market and die by the free market instead of dodging risk in a rigged game. Fair capitalism must be based on justice as well as justness in line with corporate profits. We need to end corporate mooching and swindling CEOs need to do real jail time.
Trickle-down economics is the most damaging set of lies we’ve ever been told and sold. Corporations are not “job creators.” Customers are job creators. Without customers, corporations don’t exist. Trickle-down economics focuses on supply but without demand the system disintegrates.
Middle-Out economics creates demand by putting more money in the hands of the middle class. Businesses get even more customers as middle-America now has money to spend, especially when 70% of our economy is based on that very consumer spending.
My view of a strong American economy is when it functions for the betterment of the nation and all of our citizens by providing the products, goods, and services we need through fair economic competition while being accountable to customers, fully recognizing workers’ rights, as well as providing living wages.
Our Environment and Animals
The evidence is overwhelming that our planet is undergoing detrimental climate change and humans are accelerating the pace. We need to take action before it’s too late.
I see a Florida that gets substantially more of its energy needs from solar power and I wholeheartedly support pro-renewable energy efforts. We must protect clean water and make fines, sanctions, penalties, and prosecution of polluters a reality.
I support the comprehensive environmental plan to save our environment proposed by Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
I am a huge animal rights supporter so I also plan a review of the USDA’s policies and procedures regarding the apparent oversight and lack of fines and inspections that would help curb abuse. By closing the division and adding punch to the Animal Welfare Act of 1966 we can better protect animals.
Our Freedoms, Liberties, and Social Equality
The First Amendment is the most important pillar of our nation and must always be safeguarded.
We must also protect our Second Amendment rights, but we must do so responsibly without antics and scare tactics.
We must fully address mental health problems, their spillover and crossover, the attached stigmas, and we must allow people the access to proper care.
Women's access to health care should be expanded and we should not stand for the artificial limits of liberty imposed, including those that disproportionately and harshly treat low-income, minority, and immigrant women.
In terms of reproductive rights: legal, safe, and affordable contraception should be available and Constitutionally-protected abortion rights need to be legally upheld.
Women should have uncensored information and the power needed to make their own decisions outside of intrusive government interference.
Access to health care is also an economic issue. A woman should be able to control her own health and reproductive rights because her health and choices make a very real and lasting impact on not only her own financial stability and survival but also her family’s.
Racism, sexism, and homophobia are all forms of bigotry that to me, underscore our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another while we realize the full and equal Constitutional rights of all Americans.
We must act socially, legislatively, and in every way collectively possible to end such pervasive, systemic, ongoing, and ingrained oppression of minorities.
Access to participation in our democratic system is vital, therefore, I support making Election Day a national holiday and support anti-corruption and anti-gerrymandering efforts.
Infrastructure and Education
Creativity, open-mindedness, flexibility, and adaptability are vital abilities needed in the constantly changing world and business climate. We cannot afford simple education reform: we need full education revolution if we are going to compete in the 21st century.
We must redraw the blurred line between private firms churning a profit and the education system. Education in America should be viewed as a public good.
A great deal of federal student loan forgiveness must occur. Those advancing their education will be able to go forward without the weight of enormous loan repayments and can then spend that money stimulating the economy.
Everyone agrees that we must do something major about our infrastructure. Activating a plan will produce crucial domestic employment. We simply cannot hold on to the romantic notion we can bring our manufacturing jobs back from overseas when shareholders are loving what they're seeing from un-American corporations currently making record profits.
Passing a meaningful infrastructure program and educating our people will make us the best, brightest, most flexible and adaptable workforce of the 21st century.

Why "Purple Dog?"
Worldwide bestselling author, renowned public speaker, and entrepreneur Seth Godin writes in Purple Cow: Transform Your Business by Being Remarkable, that the world and the rules of marketing are changing ever more rapidly. The old ways such as run-of-the-mill TV commercials, ads in the Wall Street Journal, and so on... don't work like they used to because such messages are so plentiful that consumers have tuned them out. This means you have to toss out everything you know and do something "remarkable" (the way a purple cow in a field of plain white cows would be remarkable) to have any effect at all. It is solid and timely advice to 1) be outrageous, 2) tell the truth, 3) test the limits and 4) never settle for just "very good."
I have a long history with rescue dogs, so "Purple Dog" became the brand I created to bring you bold critical thinking for the 21st century.

The Purple Dog Path to the U.S. Senate 2016 Companion Book: It Takes A Village idiot is my second book and is meant to be a humorous look at politics and government and also contains a "Cliff's Notes" style breakdown of the first book.

The Voting Dead Halloween Special
THE WALKING DEAD spoof
Q) How do you take on opposing candidates who are funded by PACs and who have billionaire friends hell bent on buying what's left of our democracy?
A)You make cheap, stupid, horribly edited videos to differentiate yourself from the holier-than-thou, cookie cutter, run of the mill typical politicians and their slickly produced, big-budget productions.
THIS EPISODE-The Voting Dead are zombie voters who do whatever their party tells them to do just like sheep. These brain-lacking walkers roam across the country. Rick Limes and the group are trying to survive and get the cure, independent thinking for themselves and common sense away from groupthink, to the plagued masses before it's too late.

I am an average citizen (and not a politician) who will bring civil service back to the job and not politics as usual.
Speaking solely about the issues isn't enough these days for an independent candidate with a shoestring campaign budget. Look for more BARKING BAD coming your way on THE GUTHRIE SHOW.
